This is great! Hubby just finished his Masters in education. Now looking at PhD programs…….seriously, when do I finish school?! I am a SAHM currently, with my B.A. We had a 5 yr old and a 8 month old. And we live in a 900 sq ft house.

That goodness I found you all!
Yip my hubby is a perpetual student also. When he fist talked about going back to school I was assured it was going to be 3 years….how foolish am I? So far we are at 6 and gaining speed!!
Trying hard to support him both financially and emotionally but I’m growing weerier each day.
Somebody please save me!

I just found your blog and so far I’m really enjoying it! My husband has been in school for the duration of our almost three year marriage. He has another year of undergrad, and then either a master’s or PhD (he hasn’t quite decided). So I’m here to join the club!!

I am a SAHM to three kids and my husband is a full time grad student. He works several PT jobs and I try to save as much money as possible by living frugally. Check our “The Less Project” at Alicia’s Homemaking too. Seven years is too long too wait!

Love it! Love it! Love it! This group caught my eye immediately and is definitely needed if only to remind you that you’re never going at it alone. My husband and I met in undergrad. He went back after we graduated to get his teacher certification, started a grad program at one school, finished it at another. In between applications to PhD programs, he is now considering a master’s in journalism (compliments of yours truly). So, 9 years, 8 moves, and 2 degrees later, I still can’t tell you what he wants to do, but I love him anyway!

My student husband is only part-time in the doctoral program. And I can’t say much as I’ve been going to school more or less since we’ve been married (maybe he qualifies as Husband of Perpetual Student?).

I’m not sure that I count.

He stays home with the little ones. Studies when he can between naps and doing laundry and at night, weekend.

I work full time. I am able to work from home a bit or flex hours when I need to so he can leave early for a class.

and we stretch every penny we can.

Please tell me how you manage to have kids AND a student husband? And are you a stay at home mom? How do you get by financially? My husband is going to study – but I have to keep working, so have to wait another 7 plus years for kids – and thats killing me… HELP
