I have just a few questions, and don't really know where to begin. I currently have a 15 month old and we are trying to conceive another. So this is not immediate.

I was sure that I would not get an epidural with my DD, but after 60 hours of contractions (10 -8 minutes apart) with broken water for 12 of those, and then only being 3 cm dilated, this FTM was discouraged. Thus, I got the epidural but still did not dilate past 6 cm for another 10 hours! I did not prepare as I should have and did not rely on God as I should have. We want to do a better job with our next child.

As we begin to try this process again, I am looking into being better prepared. Firstly, I would like to try a HB but we live in an apartment. Is that possible? respectful? We live two miles from St. Francis South Campus in a 1st floor apartment with neighbors above and on both sides.

Also, I am curious how reporting to the government and birth certificates work. If there are websites or other info that you can share with me I would greatly appreciate it. Also are there Christian midwives/doulas in the greater Indianapolis area.

I am sorry if these are very broad, but as I said I am just beginning my quest into this realm.

Thank you,
Heather Ray
