I laughed out loud when I read this because I'm the same way. I try not to keep treats in the house because I will eat them all and I will always have a "reason".

I emptied the dishwasher so I should have a handful of M&Ms. I settled that toddler squabble with such diplomacy equals a piece of cake for me!

Glad it's not just me :)

That's interesting. I've always wondered why people decide to cut something out of their lives. I suppose recognizing a tendency towards over-indulgence in something that should be enjoyed in moderation certainly qualifies as something to cut completely. I guess to a certain degree that is the reason I don't keep sweets or snack foods in the house. It's easier to have self control when the temptation is further removed than my kitchen cupboard. I don't take your "all-or-nothing" approach however because I want to be sure to set an example of moderation in all things and self-control for my kids. (That's not a criticism of your methods by any means.)
