Seeking the Lord’s Wisdom over Legos.

I love two year olds.  For every ounce of frustration they give, they repay you with at least two hilarious moments.

Such as this one.

I had sent Benjamin to his room for Lego battery.  That is, he was beating the Legos.

When the timer went off, I went in to get him.

He didn’t even look at me.  As soon as I opened the door, he came strolling out.

His nose in a Bible.

(One of those little Gideon Bibles.  Just his size.)

I didn’t even ask if he’d learned his lesson.

  1. I’m confused; why was he sent to his room?

He was getting very angry with the Legos. He was attempting to beat them into submission. They, however, were very stubborn and yet still refused to form the house he wanted them to.

T’would have been their demise, had I not stepped in.

  2. Just trying to get the full picture: did you try showing him how they go together?

Not in this particular instance, no. In the past, yes. This time, I was busy making dinner. He had actually dragged (drug?) all the Legos into the kitchen and attempted to build a house in the middle of the floor.
I had called for Olivia to come in and help him, but she wasn’t in a Lego mood at that time.
So, not needing the extra stress of the yelling and banging at that time, in that place, I chose to make it a teachable moment on anger management.
