We made the 7 and a half hour drive in a little over 9 hours, stopping every 60-90 minutes.  I spent most of the ride trying to convince children that, no, they had to stay buckled up while I then simultaneously crawled all over the back of the van doling out snacks and picking up dropped toys.

Three rest areas and two gas stations later, we arrived.  I hadn’t read even an entire chapter in Order of the Phoenix.

Alas.

But here we are.  And it’s kind of vacation-ish… the part where they all come home from school and work is, anyway.  Even Josh goes into the church to do his studying during the day.

The rest* of the family will arrive late tomorrow night and then the party begins.

*Except Melissa.  Who is in Australia.  WE MISS YOU SASSA!

I got to meet Shannon’s boyfriend.  This little girl was in third grade when I started dating her brother.  And now she has a boyfriend.  And he’s in COLLEGE.

Ack!

And SHE’LL be in college next year.

ACK!

Speaking of growing up entirely too quickly, Olivia drove the tractor (riding lawn mower) out of the garage, turned onto the driveway, and then turned onto the road.  ALL.BY.HERSELF.

She’s four.

Benjamin rode the tractor, too, but didn’t turn it whatsoever.  The tractor drove him.  This point was proven when he fell asleep at the wheel and yet the tractor kept on chugging away across the lawn.

My baby just woke up and is staring at me with pleading eyes.  So this post is officially over.

Bye!
