I meant to add some advice my doctore gave me for my potty training boy, "Relaz. He won't go to kindergarten in diapers." You know, the doctor was right. He was trained at about 2.5 years old. :-)

Congrats on figuring this out for your child. I don't have any little ones left, but I will be sharing your idea and making sure I have some jelly beans bags in my purse to go with the idea.. Thanks.

sigh... I have tried similar tactics with potty training my son (now 3yr). We've done both jelly beans and skittles (if we use M&Ms I end up eating more than him!). He goes every time I put him on the potty and loves to get the treat but he still doesn't initiate on his own. Oh well... still a work in progress. Congrats on your potty training success, I know its a slow road sometimes, I'm glad someone has had success in this area!!

My youngest loved to look at Find books, or maze books or work books, so once we got him to set there & relax & read instead of worrying he would fall in, he stopped dreading the whole thing and kind of looked forward to it. Glad you found something that works for you! (And hope that you have good dental insurance! That would never have worked for us cuz our weakness is good dental hygiene! He's 7 and tho he does well with evening brushing, "bednight breath" doesn't seem to matter to him as much as the taste of his breakfast so we haven't come up with a consistent system for mornings...)

I understand doing it for Gammy. I think Lexi would do anything for her cousin Gabbie. I'm pretty sure that Lexi will be potty trained by us always telling her Gabbie goes pee on the potty. or maybe it will take Gabbie telling Lexi to go pee on the potty.

Funny how they will do things for other people that they wont do for mommy and daddy.

Bragging on my children always leads to my demise. As soon as the praise leaves my mouth about how great they're doing at this that or the other, it's all over. Great tip! Blessings, Whitney
