I LOVE baking pies! My favorite.

This one looks fabulous! Blue ribbon all the way. Mine aren’t always pretty but they taste good.

I actually won a blue ribbon at the state fair for a pie! But I believe mine was cherry rhubarb. The crust is the same recipe though.

It’s funny though, at the county fair (which you enter to qualify for the state fair in Indiana) a purple ribbon is actually better than a blue ribbon.

I use the same crust recipe you use, and here’s a way to make it WAY easier:

Combine all ingredients except water into a Tupperware bowl. Top with lid and shake in a circular pattern until dough pieces are pea-sized.

Add 6 Tbs of water and shake in an up-and-down motion until dough is in a ball, adding water as necessary.

I posted this recipe a week ago, but they really are the best Homemade Oreos, EVER.

My sister and I made strawberry-rhubarb pie last weekend. She did the crust, following an allrecipes.com recipe calling for butter (my requirement) and vinegar (don’t know what that does, but oh my, it was the most amazing thing.)

I have never successfully made a flour pie crust… but I LOVE Apple pie. I’ll have to print this and use it this fall when we go apple picking!

You inspired me to do a apple dessert as well (oh yeah, and my husband said that THIS is the recipe I must share!)

He he. I use jus-roll pastry so I won’t be entering any state fair – but the rest of it is exactly like my apple pie recipe. I can vouch for how tasty this must be. A pie that looks as good as it tastes is a very beautiful thing.
