Next time I'll get two rugs. Great idea. Cheating works for me when company's coming.

I missed WFMW so I'm browsing them now.I have a new blog focusing on home organization.

This is why I shop at IKEA. I purchased about 3-4 of the same rug and move them around the house according to how dirty they are. The extra one gets thrown in the wash.

Great technique! I keep a spare bath rug around, too. I wash them periodically, but the take sooooo long to dry, so keeping a spare is the only practical way to go.

HA! My mother does this! Whenever company is coming over she just vacuums the area rug in front of the entry way. I swear it works! Thanks for the great tip.

I use this technique...and if I really want to impress, I'll use a piece of damp potty paper to clean the toothpaste blobs out of the sink... :)

we use towels as floor mats, there's always an extra one to throw down and look clean! but to make it look even cleaner, I just leave the "floor mat" off the floor. For some reason my bathroom always looks cleaner that way.
I normally have to pick up the 1,000 hairs that have fallen off my head before my bathroom can be "clean".

Actually, Beckie, my floor mats are machine washable! So I threw the dirty one in the wash the next day and then stored IT in the microscopic linen closet in case I need this trick again (and I will).

Smart cookie. Now, did you remember to pick up and put away the floor mat in case you need this trick again?
