1. I hung my clothes out to dry.
  2. We used cloth diapers.
  3. And cloth wipes.
  4. I learned to play the CVS game.
  5. I made my own laundry detergent. (Until that proved problematic.)
  6. I stopped going to the mall.
  7. We rented movies from the library.
  8. I made our meals from scratch.
  9. We shopped at gently-used children’s clothing stores.
  10. We were satisfied with what we had and waited on the Lord for what we wanted.

It’s amazing what a list can do. A to-do list can overwhelm you. A worry-list can exhaust you. A thankful list can restore you.

This list encouraged me. When you are used to saving money and cutting corners everywhere you can, it becomes the norm. You cease to see it as anything extraordinary; it’s simply how you live.  Writing this list reminded me how active we are at pursuing frugality.
