It’s the chill of stone-cold neglect.

But don’t you even assume I’ve been using my non-blogging time to simply sit back and relax.  No, we succeeded in visiting every single known relative in Illinois over the past eight days.  And even squeezed in a wedding.  And a friend or two.  And a date *incredulous face*.

And we had approximately 3.5 Christmases.  By the time the 25th rolled around, we were astounded that we still had another day left to celebrate.

And we brought home entirely too many toys.  Since arriving home this evening, our time has been devoted to finding a place for everything.  And we have.  But in order to do so we’ve had to misplace a couple things.  And by “a couple” I mean… lots of things we haven’t used in years.  Like a 3-disc CD changer.  From the 90’s.  It’s huge.  And a 13″ color television that we cannot find a place for (“for which we cannot find a place” … yada yada).  And boxes of clothes and bags of stuffed animals.  And shoes.  And coats.

I can be a bit of a pack rat.

I’m working on it.

Oh, and did I tell you I have 10 pounds to lose?  First I need to buy a scale.  Then I’m going to get right on that.  Because the cookies?  And the ham?  And the fudge?  And the crackers?  And the dip?  And the COOKIES?  So yeah.  Keep me accountable to that, will you?  10 pounds.  I can do it.

So what did I get for Christmas, you ask?  Money.  Bubble bath.  Money (Which I used to buy various cloth diapering goodies).  Pajamas.  Bath robe.  But the most fun was watching the little ones open their presents (and playing with them!).

As for Josh and my presents, well, we’re going to cash in the rewards we earned on our credit card (mostly buying Christmas presents!) and have a bit of a shopping spree at Sear’s.

My list includes but it not limited to:

  1. A bathroom scale
  2. A sewing machine
  3. Sheets
  4. Season 4 of I Love Lucy
  5. High School Musical
  6. A whole-house water filtration system from Culligan.  Because I’m tired of my water.

Oh, and guess what happens in January?  Guess!

DSL COMES IN JANUARY.

First, though, I need to take my phone in and get a couple things fixed.  I don’t think insurance comes with a pay-as-you-go plan.  Which is what I will have to succumb to in order to afford DSL.

But now I’m tired.  Because this is the most exercise these poor fingers have had in many days.

So good-bye.

Oh, but do give me lots of good reading material, if you will.  I’ve been missing my comments.  I do love my comments.  Tell me, what did you do for Christmas?  And what did you get?
