Hi everyone,
Bisquick now makes another one called Heart Healthy Bisquick. It is made with canola oil instead of trans fatty shortening but it does not contain whole wheat flour, unfortunately. Any version should be put in the refrigerator or freezer once opened. Good luck!

This recipe sounds great! Can I use this homeade bisquick mixture to add to my quiche recipe? My quiche requires 1 cup of bisquick mix.

The reason I am looking to substitute: After my husband brought a box of bisquick home and I read the ingredients, I was horrified! It has trans fat in it. Yuck! I dont want to feed this to my pregnant belly or to my 15 month old daughter.

I also read your article on co sleeping. I couldnt agree with you more! Please respond about my bisquick/quiche query. Thanks!!

This is great. I never thought you could make a Bisquick without shortening, that is why I never used it. Thans so much.

Gift and Andrea - I'll have to try that out! I'm sure I'd have to modify it somehow. I'll have to see what Bisquick says to add to make it a waffle mix. Maybe it'll be the same with mine. And if you find out before me, let me know!

Can this be used for waffles? What other recipes can be used with this mix. Thanks for posting this, I have always wanted to find a healthier alternative to bisquick!
